Active Mobility Projects
Downtown Greenville Bike Racks
I cultivated a coalition between the Eastern North Carolina Alliance, the City of Greenville, the Downtown Greenville Partnership, Raleigh-based non-profit advocacy group Oaks and Spokes to install 13 bike racks in downtown Greenville, NC.
Winterville Quick Build Intersection Improvements
I led a coalition to develop, design, and install curb extensions and high-visibility crosswalks at three intersections near schools in central Winterville, NC using low-cost materials, part of a “mini grant” funded by the National Center for Safe Routes to School and GM.
Bike Education Classes
With other League of American Bicyclists League-Certified Instructors, I have run classes for East Carolina University students, faculty, and staff as well as "Learn to Ride" and "Ready to Ride" youth bike classes.
Greenway Wayfinding Markers
In partnership with the Friends of Greenville Greenways & City of Greenville Recreation and Parks Dept, I planned and organized a community-driven project to stencil wayfinding markers (in the shape of green frogs) on sections of local greenways to improve navigation and aesthetics.
Jaycee Park Connector Trail
Through Friends of Greenville Greenways, I am co-leading the construction of a new 0.3 connector trail between Jaycee Park Community Center and library and South Wright Rd. This project is entirely volunteer-led.
Walk & Roll to School Day
As Winterville's Safe Routes to School Coordinator, I have organized Walk & Roll to School Day events for WH Robinson Elementary and AG Cox Middle School.
